The BodySignals Library provides general information about posture, sitting, walking and back health. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it does not replace an assessment by a doctor, physiotherapist or other qualified clinician who knows your situation.

Seek emergency care for back or neck pain with:
- new loss of bladder or bowel control, or numbness around the genitals or buttocks;
- new weakness in the legs or arms that is getting worse;
- severe pain after a fall, an accident or a significant injury;
- fever, unexplained weight loss, or a history of cancer with new back pain;
- chest pain, shortness of breath, or pain that comes with feeling very unwell.
More detail is in back pain red flags.
See a clinician
Book an appointment for pain that keeps getting worse, pain that lasts more than a few weeks, pain that wakes you at night, numbness or tingling, or any symptom you are worried about. If you are pregnant, recently gave birth, are older, or have a condition such as osteoporosis, ask before starting new exercise.
About the exercises
Exercises in the library are general examples. Start gently, stop if something causes sharp pain, dizziness, numbness or tingling, and get advice if you have a recent injury or surgery.
About the BodySignals app
BodySignals measures head position from AirPods and gives feedback on posture habits. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and its thresholds and scores are product settings, not clinical cut-offs. See the terms of use.
About the evidence
Research changes. We describe the evidence as it stands when an article is updated, with labels that show how strong it is (see evidence labels). Articles have not yet been medically reviewed; see the editorial policy.
General information, not medical advice. Every claim carries its source; where the evidence is thin, the page says so.Editorial policy · How we grade evidence · All sources · Disclaimer
